Helium & Deflation

So i used to collect pictures of escaped helium balloons, also deflated balloons. I think they’re beautiful, and wistful, and full of desire (theirs to escape, their owners to keep tight hold of this miraculous floating celebration). I think the wistful is because i always want one and never get bought one. Also they mean parties and celebration and colour and joy. So altogether an excellent area of human/noble gas experience to explore. But that was before my computer got nicked and my life was changed to one without such meaningful and rewarding collections. I saw a balloon escaping over the quays yesterday and it made my day, so here are the few images that survive, from said mind-blowing collection. Really they survive as they were from the Off-Print series (though they’re only a teensy bit distorted).
